PayPal To Now Offer Crypto Service In The UK

Online payments giant PayPal will make its cryptocurrency service available to all UK customers

PayPal, a San Jose-based financial technology giant, has announced that all eligible customers will now be able to buy, sell and hold cryptocurrencies in the UK in their portfolios. Supported digital assets include Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, and Litecoin. PayPal has gradually introduced new functionality to all US users after it entered into the cryptocurrency industry in October. PayPal began offering support for specified cryptocurrencies in the UK in late August.
The company's blockchain leader, Jose Fernandez da Ponte, highlighted that PayPal is working to contribute to shaping the role of cryptocurrencies in global finance. Meanwhile, in July, the payments giant opened several cryptocurrency-related jobs in Ireland.
