The cryptocurrency market has recently become a lucrative place for many investors. It's not just adults who profit from this situation. According to information reported by Dallas News, the two brothers, aged 9 and 14, earn tens of thousands of dollars just by mining Ethereum (ETH).
Fourteen-year-old Ishaan Thakur and his 9-year-old sister Aanya have been running a lucrative mining business for the past few months. What started with a single computer in a room now continues in a house in a rented, air-conditioned data center in downtown Dallas. They started by mining Ethereum with an old gaming laptop in their hands and earned $1,000 from their small operations in the first month of mining.
Each month, the two brothers earn over $30,000 in mining leafs from Bitcoin and two other cryptocurrencies.
Ishaan told CNBC:
“We started because we wanted to learn something new about technology and make some money in the meantime. We could have spent the whole summer playing video games, but instead, we used our free time to learn about technology.”
The two brothers researched this business, which they started with curiosity, to every detail. While watching many YouTube videos, Ishaan found various resources on the internet for mining-related technologies and learned the technical details needed to start a successful mining business.
The two brothers said they use 100% renewable energy for mining to be environmentally friendly. Ishaan said electricity bills total around $3,000 for both their homes and data centers. Ishaan continued to tell CNBC:
“We moved from my desk to the garage because the house was causing so much heat and noise. We also got out of the garage as the heat and noise became too much for the garage. Now we only use the garage to build and test mining rigs. When they're ready, we move them to a professional, air-conditioned data center in downtown Dallas.”
