It had partnered with the crypto payment network Flexa to receive bank payments.
The bank will allow its investors using Wompi services from its customers to make Bitcoin purchases.
Carlos Mauricio Novoa, COO of Bancoagricola, said:
“We are excited to be the first financial institution in El Salvador to provide our customers with access to Bitcoin and increase financial inclusion.”
Trevor Filter, Fleaxa co-founder for the partnership with Flexa, said:
“The opportunity to partner with innovative and world-class organizations like Bancoagrícola and Grupo Bancolombia so that we can support better payment technology for millions of Salvadorans in such a tangible and effective way is simply incredible.”
