The Central Bank of Brazil is working towards more peaceful regulations for the crypto sector. According to the bank president's statement, efforts are being made to establish regulatory clarity for digital currencies. Brazil is leading other countries in digital currency adoption in Latin America.
The central bank's move comes after Brazil-based police launched a compliance operation, an investigation against digital money laundering. About 150 federal police officers were involved in the operation, and multiple seizure orders have already been issued across the country.
Speaking at an event organized by the Council of America in the past weeks, Brazilian Central Bank President Roberto Campos Neto spoke about the regulation;
“Financial markets are changing incredibly. It is time for us to reconsider the issue of regulating financial policies around the world.”
